Kerna, Jim and Ben
About Us
We have been married for 5 years. We met through online dating and felt a connection right away. Movies, music, sports and traveling are some of our favorite things second best to spending time with friends and family. Having similar morals and values has helped build a loyal and strong relationship. Our love and friendship has truly gotten us through the good times and bad.
We both dreamed of having children and were blessed in 2006 when our son Ben was born. Feeling like our family was incomplete, we desperately tried to conceive another child on our own and with fertility treatments. Without any luck we then decided to pursue adoption. We feel that things in life happen for a reason and that in spite of our infertility we are meant to love and provide a safe and secure life for a second child.
About Kerna
Since Ben was born, Kerna has taken a break from working as a Speech-
Language Pathologist, allowing her to give him more time and attention. She feels blessed that this is a choice. Kerna also enjoys home decorating, gardening, photography, reading books, baking and cooking. She admits to some guilty pleasures like watching The Ellen Degeneres Show and several reality TV shows. She leads a physically active lifestyle by going for walks and routine exercise. Kerna also likes to swim, bike, golf and ski (water ski and downhill ski). Jim might say that organization and attention to detail are some of her strengths. He thinks Kerna is thoughtful, caring, conscientious, and patient.
About Jim
Jim is self-employed selling life insurance and providing investment planning. He has a flexible schedule which allows him to be home at a reasonable hour to be with family. When he’s not talking finances, he loves playing hockey and golf. Kerna jokes that he should have been a sports commentator as he likes watching baseball, football and basketball too. Ever since Jim got his very own barbeque grill, he has perfected grilled salmon and other summertime favorites. Kerna continues to be amazed at his grilling skills! She thinks Jim is kind, responsible, hard-working and has a great sense of humor.
