Tom enjoying time with Jen's Mom
Your child will be welcomed into a large, close-knit family who are active with each other throughout the year. Jennifer is very close to her mother and two brothers. She has three cousins who are married and have children Tom’s age. Paul was born in Portugal and came to America when he was three years old with his family. Paul’s dad passed away but his mom is living and is very active with the church and her family. Paul has four brothers; all but one is married with children. Most of Paul’s family and friends live within fifteen minutes of our home.

Jennifer works helping low-income people increase their self-esteem and to obtain a job. She is kind and patient and loves helping people learn and grow. She plans to leave her job once a baby is welcomed into their family and will be a stay at home mom. Paul is an Education Director at a private school and is well respected and liked by fellow staff, as well as students. He also works part-time at his brother’s company on special projects. He has a great sense of humor and is kind, gentle and very intelligent. In student surveys he consistently ranks at the top in his department. He is a history buff and very handy around the house. He built our back deck and enjoys taking historic trips to places like the Minute Man National Historic Park where the American Revolution began back in 1775. Paul is also an avid, die-hard Red Sox fan and was lucky enough to go to both World Series with his best friends in 2004 and 2007. Jen enjoys the Red Sox and has been to many of their games. They look forward to more family trips to Fenway Park.

Jennifer is very enthusiastic and always looking for something new and exciting to do. She likes running, hiking, and skiing. Jen either runs or walks the dog to the park with Tom in tow almost every day during the summer. In fact, around town, people know her as the blonde with the beagle.
Paul and Jen both enjoy seasonal activities such as apple picking, day trips to the beach, sledding, and country fairs. We attended fairs such as the Big E where Tom was so happy to be able to pet the animals and had a pony ride. Paul also enjoys the family walks and will, on occasion, walk the dog around town but without the notoriety that Jen has. Our favorite place to walk is the local Rail Trail recently built on an old railroad track. We vacation on Cape Cod every summer where we take daily walks along the Cape Cod Canal.
Nearly every weekend we get together with Tom’s Grandparents or cousins for dinners, parties, and celebrations. Jennifer’s mother has tons of toys for Tom to play with and Paul’s mother is notorious for her Portuguese soups and the chocolate bowl. We all love to read and regularly visit the library. On our last summer vacation we visited three area libraries for relief from the hot sun. It was nice to take a break from our travels and Tom was excited that all three had a large train table. Paul has recently taken an interest in astronomy and spends hours looking through his telescope. He also enjoys reading, especially text-books so he can pick up additional knowledge for work or to add to his historical knowledge. Yes he is, admittedly, just a little bit of a geek.
We live in a very friendly neighborhood with lots of children of all ages. The two children across the street visit often and Tom goes to their house during the week while Jen is at work. Your child will enjoy making friends close to home.
