Beth, Jill & Elias
About Us

Enjoying a summer canoeing adventure
Our love of women's basketball brought us together when we met at a tournament over eight years ago. Since then, we've found that we have many more things in common from the silly (a desire to sample homemade ice cream all over New England) to the serious (a strong commitment to faith, family, and friends).
Today we share a home with our son (Elias Jack) and two dogs (Georgie and Dunkin') in a diverse neighborhood of Boston. Our street has families with children of all ages, many who play together. We live within walking distance of a park, a playground, a bakery, a bookstore, and an ever-important ice cream parlor.

Beth with Elias on his first Halloween
Beth (according to Jill)
Beth is an “Even Steven” – very patient and steady. Among her best qualities is how accepting she is of others. She is also a really good listener. And she keeps a secret better than anyone! For all these reasons, she is the perfect confidante. Beth's calm manner puts children at ease so they are able to open up to her. Many small hands have cupped her ear to whisper a special thought that only the two of them share.

Jill (according to Beth)
Jill is thoughtful, loyal, and caring with a laugh that is infectious. What makes Jill an outstanding parent is that she knows how to have fun! After a fresh snow, you can often find Jill with sled in hand heading to the nearby hill. She enjoys playing games of all kinds. Kids and adults alike always want Jill on their team.

Mommy & Mama (according to Elias)
Mommy and Mama make a great parenting duo! Mama (Jill) loves to sing to me before bed (I don't tell her when she misses a high note) and Mommy (Beth) enjoys reading to me (not only can I name lots of animals, but I can also make their sounds). While most of our time together is marked by laughter rather than tears, they have started to expect more of me now that I'm a big boy. For example, I have to pick up my cup when I throw it on the floor which is no fun. But I guess teaching me these kinds of things is part of their job, too. So I give them two thumbs up!
