About Bright Futures
Our Goals

Bright Futures hopes to give adoptive parents and birth parents a more open adoption alternative in Massachusetts; an alternative that encourages adoptive parents and birth parents to:

• participate in the adoption process,
• get to know and respect one another,
• understand one another's roles and responsibilities as members of an adoption triangle,
• work together to make a plan for ongoing contact that is in the best interest of the child, and
• make adoption a healthy and secure beginning to the life of a child.

Bright Futures also hopes to:

• attract adoptive families of color for the many black and multiracial babies available for adoption,
• counsel and educate adoptive families interested in transracial adoption about the special needs and concerns of transracial adoptees and, where appropriate, assist such parents through the adoption process, and
• make the adoption process accessible and affordable for all adoptive families.
